Accessibility Statement

Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the project website ethics-eu.de, including its subpages. External content and embedded third-party services (e.g. media library players from broadcasters) are not covered.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the German Barrier-Free Information Technology Regulation (BITV 2.0), implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102, based on the harmonized standard EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Non-accessible Content

The following content is not fully accessible for the reasons listed:

  • PDF documents: Some files lack proper tagging, alternative texts, and heading structures.
  • Embedded videos (SWR/ARD/ZDF): Subtitles, keyboard navigation, and controls are provided by the third-party provider; full accessibility cannot be guaranteed.
  • Contrast and focus: Some link or icon colors do not meet recommended contrast levels; keyboard focus indicators are not fully consistent.
  • Alternative texts: Some images do not yet include meaningful alt texts.
  • Tables/lists: On mobile devices, some tables require horizontal scrolling.

Exemptions / Content outside the scope

Certain third-party services (e.g. embedded media library players) and archived materials may fall under the exemptions provided by the EU Directive and BITV 2.0.

Accessible Alternatives

Where possible, text summaries or direct links to original sources are provided. Subtitles or transcripts for project videos are being added progressively.
